A distribution warehouse in excess of 1 million sq ft is in the pipeline following the acquisition of a 96 acre site in Swindon by new industrial and logistics joint venture db symmetry, formed following the purchase of a 60 per cent stake in Barwood Development by clients advised by Delancey.
The site, known as The Hub, occupies a strategic position close to the intersection of the A420 Oxford Road and the A419 Stratton St. Margaret bypass, four miles north of Junction 15 of the M4.
The Hub has been purchased by clients advised by db symmetry and Delancey and comes with outline planning permission for a scheme which can accommodate over 1.2 million sq ft of logistics and industrial space, and detailed consent for a new access road and junction on the A420.
The developer, which recently secured another major project following its purchase of a 48 acre site in Nottingham, has already commenced work on the infrastructure and associated enabling works and will shortly be marketing the scheme to potential occupiers in the large scale logistics sector.
db symmetry/Delancey was represented by Equation Ltd who will be retained alongside Savills to market the development going forwards.
