The West Midlands has become a hotspot for industrial activity over the past 12 months, with increasing numbers of international firms choosing to expand their interests in the region. However, thanks to widespread marketing initiatives throughout mainland Europe and beyond, it is fast becoming a prime tourist destination too.
This tourism boom has encouraged a renewed interest in the West Midlands’, with Stratford-upon-Avon proving particularly popular for leisure and hospitality firms due to its Shakespearian heritage. Not only has this seen one of the area’s top hotels undergo a refurbishment on a grand scale to transform it into a quality wedding and functions development, but will also soon see top international chef Marco Pierre White open a new restaurant in the town.
The Chapel Street, Stratford restaurant will be only the second branded restaurant by the chef to open in the West Midlands, joining the hugely popular Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill located in The Cube, Birmingham. Both serve a mix of Italian and American cuisine, with traditional pasta dishes and pizzas combining with hot dogs, burgers, steaks and ribs to create a vibrant menu.
Due to open in August of this year, the restaurant will create around 30 jobs in the local area for a range of skill sets. Recruitment has already begun, and is expected to conclude in the weeks leading up to the opening.
Spokesman for the Marco Pierre White Stratford branch, Mark Nesbitt, believes the location of the restaurant will prove fortuitous in a town like Stratford.
He says; “This is a really exciting opportunity to bring Marco’s cuisine to Stratford-upon-Avon.
“With the location of the restaurant on Chapel Street being in such a prime spot within the town and within close proximity to all the theatres, we look forward to welcoming visitors in for pre and post-performance dining.”
