Asset manager for The Crown Estate’s Regent Street Portfolio Katerina Mercury, believes the arrival of Uno de 50 will further raise the prestige of London’s premier shopping street.

She says; “Uno de 50 will make a fantastic addition for shoppers, complementing Regent Street’s world class line up of fashion and accessories retailers.

“Following in the footsteps of Hunter, & Other Stories, Karl Lagerfeld and Piquadro, all of which opened their first UK flagships here, Uno de 50’s decision emphasises Regent Street’s position as the number one destination for successful global retailers looking to launch their brands in this country.”

Uno de 50 is a relatively new brand in the jewellery sector, having been founded in the late 1990s. However, its strong commitment to high quality and hand crafting unique pieces has made it a firm favourite with the well-heeled throughout the world – it now owns and operates more than 100 stores globally, with destinations including Barcelona, New York, Paris and Milan already under its belt.

Uno de 50 owner and president, Jose Azulay, said: “Regent Street’s global reputation for quality, heritage, style and success is synonymous with our own values, which is why this was the perfect location for us to open our first UK store.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the spirit of craftsmanship which inspired the creation of Uno de 50 to this iconic part of London’s West End.”

The Crown Estate manages Regent Street on behalf of itself and partner Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) with whom it established the Regent Street Partnership in 2011.

The partnership is committed to the Regent Street Vision programme and has invested heavily in the creation of modern, spacious retail and office space. To date they have delivered ten redevelopments/refurbishments comprising 2 million sq ft along with a £25 million investment into improvements to the public realm.
