Take Away The Stress Of Moving Commercial Property

Are you looking to move commercial property? Well, you needn’t take on the stresses of this task alone and should invoke all the help possible.

Businesses who are looking to re-locate to another commercial property, should take in considerations of their staff and involve them in the decision making process. This will help spread the burden of searching for a new commercial property and should also empower staff.

This is the view according to Phil McCabe, spokesman for the Forum of Private Business, who says: Moving in to a different commercial property ‘is always a stressful time. Involve the staff in the move … Typically small businesses will have that kind of relationship with their staff.’

McCabe compares moving commercial property, to moving house, stating that you should look for help from wherever possible. He believes that keeping staff involved in the decision making process, by allowing them to attend viewings and receiving their feedback and concerns, will act as a great way to maintain employee motivation. If they feel part of the process they will feel more valued by the company.

Along with this, you should appoint a good and trustworthy solicitor to assist you with the moving process. Yell.com states, ‘Your solicitor will guide you through the legal process of moving… and explain each stage to you. They will project manage your move, ensuring that your timescales are met and that delays are minimised. Your solicitor will also check for problems or disputes with the property. They will make sure that the right planning permissions are in place and will carry out various searches to ensure that a motorway is not going to be built in your back garden.’

When it comes to exchanging a contract on your chosen commercial property, whether you are purchasing, or will be leasing the premises, remember that you are in a strong negotiating position. Due to the economic climate, in the areas outside of central London, there is currently a dearth of vacant commercial property.
