Around 300 new jobs are being created by Airbus as part of a Europe-wide expansion that is expected to create a total of 3,000 jobs this year. The UK vacancies will be at the plane-maker’s plants in Bristol and Flintshire.
The company says an extra 10,000 people were taken on worldwide between 2011 and 2012 as its order books continued to grow.
The European opportunities are linked to Airbus’ A350 XWB twin jet and A320neo.
Broughton staff also helped develop composite wing technology for the A350 where the £400m dedicated North Factory opened in 2011.
In March Airbus reported 50 temporary jobs were being created at its base in Filton, near Bristol, due to increasing demand for its A400M military transport plane.
More details of the company’s job and career opportunities are due to be announced at the International Paris Air Show later this month.
Graduates and skilled professionals will be able to discuss the careers and professions planned by Airbus with industry specialists, human resources professionals and engineers, during the course of forums and workshops organised during the show on the EADS Careers stand.
