Asda Creates a Biscuit Good Enough for Peter Kay

Posted on 27 June, 2012 by MOVEHUT

If you are an avid Peter Kay fan, you should have heard his hilarious take on biscuits that can’t handle being dunked in a hot drink. In his DVD, ‘Live At The Top Of The Tower’ Peter talks about how Rich Teas should be called one dips because they break as soon as they hit the drink and hobnobs are the completely opposite as they need dunking again and again to absorb the liquid.

“You ever dip your biscuit in your tea and it breaks. I swear now, you never get used to that. Rich Teas should never be called one dips.

“Hobnobs now there’s a biscuit! Hobnobs are like marines. They’re like “dip me! Dip me again! Again,” Peter said.

But Asda commercial properties are now taking on Hobnobs status as the top biscuit for dunking. The ‘Dunkin Cookies’ have been designed to withstand being dunked in hot drinks as many times as you like – a job which we at MOVEHUT would have loved to have been involved with. So what makes the biscuit a rival for the Hobnob?

Dunkin Cookies are thicker than normal biscuits and have been designed to fit in cups, so no nibbling of the edges is needed – thus keeping the strength of the biscuit intact. The cookies are moist and chewy and so they absorb the liquid with fewer drips and less chunks falling off and collecting at the bottom of the cup. The best part is they only cost 60 pence for four biscuits, something even Peter Kay wouldn’t be able to make a comedy sketch about.

Do you think Hobnobs throne will be crumbling around them with Asda’s new Dunkin Cookies? Share your thoughts below. We would love to hear from our readers.
