Benefits of Recycling Electrical Goods with Dixons

Posted on 10 August, 2012 by MOVEHUT

Did you know that if you get an electrical product delivered from Dixons Retail, Currys or PC World, they will not only offer to take away your old product, but also any other electrical items that you need recycling.

They will recycle the goods even if you didn’t buy the products from one of their commercial properties and customers can also bring items in-store to have them recycled.

This may sound too good to be true, but this is why Dixons Retail have recycled over six per cent more goods than in the previous years, giving them a record of 43,500 tonnes of electrical goods recycled. Packaging recycling has also increased from 4,458 to 5,228 tonnes.

Speaking of the increase in recycling old products, Chris Brown, Recycling Manager at Dixons Retail said: “This year we expect to recycle a million products.

“Our service makes recycling old products easy for customers and they are responding by making regular use of what is a very practical and environmentally efficient offer, with our delivery lorries returning full of recycling.”

As well as doing their bit for the environment, customers who recycle their unwanted items are also doing their bit for charity.

“Customers aren’t just doing their bit for the environment: they are often benefitting the British Heart Foundation as many old products can be reconditioned for resale in their charity outlets,” Mr Brown added.

Have you purchased an electrical item from Currys, Dixons Retail or PC World recently? Were you aware that they will not only recycle the product you are replacing, but any other electrical item?
