Today’s announcement that Ardagh Glass has agreed terms on over 10,000 sq ft at 10 Portman Square increases the occupancy level across British Land’s West End office estate to almost 100 per cent.

The global glass and metal packaging company has signed a ten year lease, with a five year break, on 10,250 sq ft on the first floor of the prestigious seven-storey building which provides 113,700 sq ft of Grade A office space.

James Danby, Head of Office Leasing at British Land, believes the deal is a testament to the quality, design and location of 10 Portman Square – which was completed in 2013 as part of a development programme which added a further 820,000 sq ft to its West End assets.

“We are very pleased that the remaining space is now under offer, with occupiers drawn from a wide range of sectors,” Danby added.

The deal takes the occupancy rate across British Land’s 2.4 million sq ft West End office portfolio to 96 per cent. This is an 8 per cent rise on the figure reported in March 2014, reflecting the buoyancy of the West End market.

Ardagh Glass will join current tenants including Aspect Capital, Arrowgrass Capital Partners and Aramco Overseas Company at 10 Portman Square.
