Bruntwood Commences Work on City House Redevelopment

Enabling works have been completed by the contractors, Bay Construct, which will allow the full redevelopment programme to begin in early October. With a build time of 18 months, the development will be ready for full occupation by April 2017.

Commenting on the redevelopment, Craig Burrow, Director at Bruntwood said: “We have a vision to create a more contemporary work space and have designed City House to respond to rapidly changing work practices.”

He continues: “City House will be an ideally situated contemporary workspace where forward-thinking businesses of all shapes and sizes can connect to the vibrant city of Leeds and beyond.”

The BREEAM Excellent 119, 210 sq ft scheme will comprise a roof garden; a business lounge, as well as meeting and event space. For the more established companies on the lookout for more space, there will be wings of up to 4,900 sq ft and full floors of 9,630 sq ft available, while smaller start-ups, co-working and small suites will be introduced.

“With a range of tech-savvy, design-led space and services available, it will be a place for big business, established brands, start-ups and ambitious entrepreneurs to grow and succeed alongside one another as part of a vibrant and sustainable working community. Physical, digital and social connectivity will be at its core”.

Bruntwood is currently working closely with Network in the redevelopment of Leeds train station, with the overall ambition to link City House to the station much closer, with direct access onto the concourse.
