Center Parcs has begun a recruitment drive to fill 1,500 vacancies at its new £250m holiday resort.
The group, which specialises in short family breaks, plans to open a 365-acre holiday village in Bedfordshire next year, its fifth complex in the UK.
The Woburn Forest site is expected to boast 625 forest lodges, a 75-bedroom hotel, a restaurant, a spa and two leisure buildings.
Center Parcs UK will begin recruitment within the next few months. Vacancies include 500 housekeeper roles, 126 waiting staff, 53 spa therapists, 50 lifeguards, 19 nursery nurses and six nurses.
Chief executive of Center Parcs UK, Martin Dalby said: “As the job market remains unsteady, I’m delighted that we are able to create such a large number of new jobs and offer people an exciting and rewarding career.
“Our employees play an important role during our guests’ short breaks with us and I’m confident that the Woburn Forest team will recruit 1,500 enthusiastic individuals who truly reflect our brand values.”
Center Parcs UK, which opened its first holiday village at Sherwood Forest in 1987, is looking to grow the business after “one of the toughest winters for a long time”, Mr Dalby told the Daily Telegraph in April.
Next year the company, owned by the Blackstone Group, is looking to expand into Ireland. Mr Dalby has even said there could be opportunities in India, China and Russia, but “beyond Ireland we have no firm plans on anything”.
Center Parcs UK, already has four other locations – at Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Longleat Forest in Wiltshire, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, and Whinfell Forest in Cumbria. The resorts attract more than 1.7m guests every year.
Last year Center Parcs UK saw pre-tax profits increase to £32m from £26.8m in 2011, on increased revenues of £291.7m.
