The Leadenhall Building is now 77 per cent let or under offer following the arrival of leading virtual IT systems group IPsoft, British Land and Oxford Properties have announced today.
The New York based company has agreed terms on a ten year lease, with a five year break option, on Level 31 of the City of London skyscraper, which provides 11,475 sq ft of office space.
IPsoft, which operates from 13 major cities worldwide, is a global provider of autonomic and cognitive IT solutions. The group is relocating to The Leadenhall Building from its current City address at the neighbouring 30 St Mary Axe.
Frank Lansink, EMEA CEO at IPsoft said: “London is a thriving market for the adoption of our ground breaking technologies.
“We are expanding our presence in the heart of the city in order to increase the intensity of dialogue which we have underway with the UK’s leading companies and the world’s largest financial institutions.”
Vice President Eray Ekici added that the group is excited about the move to the Cheesegrater, which will provide its staff with a premium working environment and spectacular views.
Tim Roberts, Head of Offices at British Land, said: “the arrival of a cutting-edge IT business such as IPsoft at The Leadenhall Building underlines the fact that this is a unique building.
“It combines world class design and customer service appealing to occupiers from across the corporate spectrum. We continue to see strong demand for the building’s remaining floors.”
Mike Raynor, Head of Development at Oxford Properties, believes that the signing of Ipsoft is a further endorsement of the joint-venture partners’ strategic decision to delay the leasing of the upper floors until after the completion of the building.
He added that the exceptional quality of the office space and the ‘unique arrival experience’ offered by The Leadenhall Building, is generating interest from a wide mix of high calibre occupiers.
