Commercial Property Professionals Going Mobile

Posted on 12 February, 2013 by Jodee Redmond

The results of a new report conducted by inMotion Real Estate indicate that commercial property professionals are becoming more comfortable with mobile technology.

The residential market has embraced handheld devices for some time, but the commercial market been slow to take advantage in comparison.

The amount of mobile traffic to commercial property websites has been increasing, and industry professionals are responding to demand by changing the way they do business.

According to the report, the increase in visits in 2012 was 225 per cent compared to the previous year.

Mobile visitors now make up nine per cent of total traffic to industry websites. As the smartphone and tablet market share continues to grow, so will the number of visitors viewing these sites “on the go.”

This means that businesses and investors are now able to search for offices, shops, warehouses and other commercial properties when and wherever they wish.

This is a trend that is certain to continue and agents will need to ensure their websites are mobile-ready to take advantage of the opportunities to connect with potential tenants and buyers.
