London landlord Capital and Counties has received permission for another important phase in its overhaul of Covent Garden.
The new public courtyard and the transformation the Carriage Hall building on Floral Street will now go ahead.

Westminster City Council has given permission to its proposals to renovate the 90,000 square feet situated between King Street and Floral Street.
Under the new scheme, a pedestrian passageway will be created connecting Long Acre and King Street, creating a new public courtyard and new retail, restaurant, and residential spaces.
Eight new shops will be opened around the public courtyard. Two new restaurants featuring al fresco dining will also open. The plans also include 45 apartments overlooking the courtyard.
The Grade II listed Carriage Hall building located on the western end of Floral Street will become a 13,000 square foot retail space with a covered courtyard. It will bring a new retail, dining and residential space to Floral Street, says Chief Executive Ian Hawksworth.
