Commercial property giants Cushman & Wakefield have announced that occupier expert James Meikle will be joining their expanding team in the City of London and Canary Wharf. Mr Meikle will head the Occupier team, which currently advises on over 1.5 million square feet of commercial property occupier mandates across the UK’s capital city.
Previously, Mr Meikle worked in the firm’s EMEA Corporate Occupier and Investor services team. However, his outstanding performance advising some of the world’s biggest occupiers on where to locate their commercial property offices has ensured he has been promoted to a role in which he will be head of Occupier Representation in the City of London. He will now work alongside George Roberts, partner and head of the London market team, to ensure maximum client satisfaction in their London commercial properties.
Cushman & Wakefield’s client base already includes several household names, such as JP Morgan, Standard Bank, Thomson Reuters and Nasdaq. However, Meikle will be aiming to expand the Firm’s database of clients by offering a high quality of occupier representation in their commercial property decisions.
James Meikle is the logical choice to fill the position, due to his wealth of commercial property advisory experience. He has 12 years experience of working in the occupier representation field, generally on a pan European basis with a variety of corporate commercial property occupiers.
He also ran Cushman & Wakefield’s hugely successful office leasing business in Milan, achieving record results in 2011. In his new role, he will continue to work as an advisor to Ernst & Young, who have a UK wide portfolio of commercial properties, and will also play a large part in key client strategic projects across Europe.
This new appointment is sure to see Cushman & Wakefield continue to grow in strength in the commercial property occupier industry, and will therefore hugely benefit, not only the company, but a number of international businesses who wish to locate to London commercial properties.
