David Cameron’s Start Up Britain Scheme A Positive For Commercial Property

Posted on 20 April, 2011 by MOVEHUT

David Cameron recently launched a new public sector business initiative called Start Up Britain. The scheme has been designed to offer assistance and aid to anyone who is thinking of, or are in the process of, starting their own business.

When launching the scheme just under a month ago, the Prime Minister made a direct appeal to any budding entrepreneurs saying, ‘if you’ve been turning over a good idea for years, now is the time to make something of it.’

It is hoped that the initiative will position Britain as a world leader in the launching of new start up business.

This is, of course good news for serviced office providers and commercial property owners. The one constant in which they rely, is business to take up their office and warehouse space. With an increasing amount of office space sitting vacant due to the recession, this initiative is one which office providers have been awaiting.

Due to the large amount of empty commercial property a great deal can be sought out by a start up company. It is a case of supply and demand, as there is lots of property sitting vacant, a cheaper deal is invariably found.

Although it is too early to tell the exact effects of the Start Up Britain Scheme, The Telegraph reported yesterday, there has been a search boom for start up advise. The article went on to explain that, since the initiative was launched, the number of people enquiring about start up business has increased by 25 per cent.

It is hoped that the scheme will give people the belief they can begin with a business journey, regardless of their background.

The initiative wishes for a Britain with more people like, Kellie Rixon,38, from Huyton, Merseyside. Despite not attending university or using the conventional route into business, Kellie is now the Managing Director of three training academies, which offer support to school leavers in the Merseyside area.

All in all, the initiative is good news for both, budding entrepreneurs and commercial property owners. Only time will tell how successful the scheme will be, but the immediate signs are impressive. Here’s hoping for many similar stories across the UK, to that of Huyton Entrepreneur, Kellie Rixon.
