Drumming up interest in your serviced office space

There’s no doubt that the economic climate has affected the way we all approach marketing, whether we’re talking about a retail business, a professional consultancy or even the promotion of serviced office space.

Our audience has become thriftier, watching every penny with hawk-like attention, more savvy to the market and the amount they are prepared to pay. Because of this, some property owners are getting a little more innovative with their own marketing methods to attract the attention they need to make their sales or ensure maximum occupancy levels.

Serviced office space has traditionally been sold or rented via commercial agents and, more recently, on commercial property websites like our own, but in Runcorn, Halton, the owners of The Heath Business and Technical Park, have come up with an interesting way to drum up new business and a greater awareness of the serviced office space they have available.

They are running a competition, well more of a lottery really, for small businesses or new entrepreneurs who are currently working from home, to win a year’s free serviced office space.

Neil Lancaster from the business park’s sales and marketing team was kind enough to explain the ethos to me earlier today: “Our 60-acre site used to be ICI’s global headquarters, which is why much of our site is given over to laboratories, but we also have lots of serviced office space that we’ve been looking for new ways to promote. This competition is our way of both giving back to the community through helping entrepreneurs on their first step of the ladder and ensuring a greater awareness of our site.”

The draw will take place in May and the lucky winner will get a furnished office, 174 sq ft in size (suitable for a workforce of two), for 12 months completely free of charge.

Could you be doing more to promote your serviced office space?
