Forget Takeaway Pizza – Duo Set up Commercial Property Sunday Roast Delivery Service

Pizzas and curries may be the typical takeaway options on offer-but one culinary pair has branched out from the norm, with the introduction of a roast dinner delivery service transporting full Sunday roast dinners to people’s doors.

Taking on the countless fast food commercial property joints that line the modern high street to feed the crowds, the two friends are hoping to exploit an empty hole in the British market-and their stomachs-with their traditional, home cooked roast complete with all the trimmings.

The commercial property company has been set up by enterprising friends Sarah Cummons and Rachael Smith in their bid to save people the mess and hassle involved in cooking the traditional Sunday lunch.

Rachael, 34, from Sedgley, West Midlands, first came up with the idea after friends and family said how much they loved a traditional roast but could not be bothered with all the preparation.

Mrs Smith contacted her friend 33-year-old Sarah-who had been running her own successful commercial property diner, Little Devils, for the past 16 years-and put the idea to her.

The pair settled on a business plan and decided to set up the new service. Sarah and Rachael, who have been friends since the age of five, have only just recently launched the commercial property firm Ring4Roast.

They ensure that all the meat used is British, and all vegetables are freshly cooked on the day and by no means frozen.

The pair offer a roasted topside of beef for £8.95, which they serve with homemade Yorkshire pudding, peas, sprouts, carrots, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, traditional gravy and horseradish sauce.

Delicious roast pork with crackling is £7.95 with similar trimmings, and a chicken or lamb alternative as well as a vegetarian dish are always available too.

Machinist Ray Davies from Brierley Hill, was their first client. Speaking of the service, Ray said: “I am a single man, so I wouldn’t cook it myself. I usually go out for Sunday dinner, but thought this way I can go out for a beer first, and then take it home to eat.”

Sheila Sneyd also enjoyed a Ring4Roast dinner with her 31-year-old daughter, Lucy, after having it delivered to her house.

She commented: “It is very good for busy people like myself. Already this morning I have been swimming, and then decorated my kitchen. I don’t have the time to make it myself, as it would take as good couple of hours.”

Prices for the roasts, which include chicken, beef, lamb and pork, range between £7.95 and £8.95.
