You spend the majority of your day in the office, so you want to be able to feel comfortable, relaxed and also have enough space to actually do your work in. You may think your office is adequate, but have a good look around or better still visit another office and compare it your own.
You may find there are a few aspects that could be enriched in your office! Follow our four tips to create a better office space.
Have a good look at your desk, the chair, draws, filling cabinet and computer equipment – basically everything you use daily! Is the desk big enough? Is the chair providing support and is it comfortable? Some items may need replacing if worn, but if your desk doesn’t feel big enough have a tidy up. Do you really need all those items out or can some be hidden in draws?
Whilst you are moving items into draws, have a clear out. Some items and bits of paper you won’t have used for months so don’t hoard them, instead shred them or recycle them or simply give them to someone else who may need them. After all your rubbish is another man’s gain.
Every office has a flaw! Or if you are unlucky, it may have more than one. Do you have a wonky draw? Does the door to the office open the wrong way? Whatever the top flaw in your office, make sure it is fixed. If you can fix it yourself, go for it (with consent) or speak to someone who can arrange for it to be fixed.
Are your office walls a shade of magnolia? Does the room look dull and boring? Then add some colour. A simple picture of scenic view will brighten up any room. Or you could make your own featured wall. Grab some paint and get messy! Hand prints of everyone in the office will not only be fun to do, but will also add some much needed colour. Make sure you get permission though before the fun begins.
Whatever your office looks like use these four simple tips to make your working life much more enjoyable. A small change can go a long way!
