The Chapelfield intu East Anglia’s prime shopping centre in Norwich is receiving more sparkle with two major brands, Pandora and Swarovski, which are set to become part of the large 530,000 sq ft shopping centre.
Marketing research by major real estate advisor Savills showed jewellery companies were the top consumer demand during the first quarter of 2015. intu Chapelfield is already has Beaverbrooks, H Samuel, Fraser Hart and Thomas Sabo focusing on this key customer preference. It contains 90 shops and restaurants, including major players such as the anchor store House of Fraser, H&M, Zara, Apple and a Disney Store.
Regional Director of intu, Rebecca Ryman commented: “In addition to a 1.1 million catchment, intu Chapelfield benefits from a very high number of day visitors and tourists to the city.
“Norwich has more tourists than destinations such as York and Bristol. Add to that the large student population, and the appeal for retailers opening at intu Chapelfield becomes clear.”
The Chapelfield branch has an annual footfall of 12 million, making it the prime location for the region and major fashion destination for the city of Norwich, and is ranked second in the CACI top 100 UK retail locations. With a variety of fashion and lifestyle, the centre attracts well known international brands as well as many convenient dining choices to increase dwell time, which helps retailer’s businesses to flourish. Some 55% of customers to intu Chapelfield are ABC1.
Pandora’s new 2,800 sq ft shop will be located on the upper mall with a 10 year lease and adjacent to such shops as Schuh, Hollister, Apple and Monsoon. The Swarovski store, also on the upper mall level, is to open in a 1,000 sq ft unit on a 10 year lease.
Additionally, increasing popular homeware and gifts retailer Tiger has occupied 2,800 sq ft on a 10 year lease on the lower ground floor by the main St Stephen’s Arcade entrance adding to the inviting tenant mix at the centre. This is Tiger’s second store in the city, developing on existing market demand and bringing further choice to intu customers.
