The £20 million leisure extension at intu Potteries is fully pre-let, six months ahead of its scheduled opening, intu Properties has confirmed.
The impressive occupier line-up has been completed by Bon Pan Asian Restaurant, which has taken a 13,750 sq ft first-floor unit on a 25 year lease. In total, the extension will add 60,000 sq ft to the 566,000 sq ft Stoke-on-Trent city centre retail destination.
The seventh restaurant to jump on board will join Coast to Coast, Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Chiquito and Franky & Benny’s. The scheme also includes a 1,100 seat, nine screen Cineworld cinema.
Founder Aiden Kang said: “The restaurant and leisure extension at intu Potteries is such a thrilling development and the perfect place for the first Bon Pan Asian Restaurant. With strong footfall and the right catchment profile for us, we look forward to opening and welcoming customers.”
The six towns of Stoke-on-Trent, together with the neighbouring borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, have the 12th highest population of any UK city, providing a catchment population of 600,000 and an annual footfall of 12 million. Almost a quarter of the shopping centre’s customers are from the 16-24 age range, on account of North Staffordshire’s large student population.
“We expect the area to do tremendously well and Bon Pan Asian Restaurant is a great addition to the line-up,” said intu regional director Martin Breeden.
“intu Potteries is the prime retail site in Stoke-on-Trent and the focal point of shopping, drawing customers from a wide catchment area.
“With plenty of compelling experiences for the daytime, the restaurant area will add a busy evening offer, extending dwell times to the benefit of all retailers and restaurants, helping their businesses to flourish.”
Intu was represented by Lunson Mitchenall and Bon Pan Asian Restaurant was represented by Colliers International.
