The 8.5 acre site, which includes a 105,700 sq ft warehousing and storage facility, is on the Tararnaubach Industrial Estate in Tedegar.

The family-run logistics firm, which is currently based in Cwmcarn and Blackwood, was established in 1982 and specialises in providing warehousing, distribution and shipping solutions across Wales.

The company employs over 100 people running a fleet of 70 vehicles and 120 trailers. The acquisition of the new premises is due to the continued growth in demand for its services

Owner, Gerry Jones, said: “We are delighted to have secured this new site, which further supports the development of the business.

“The move will allow us to continue with our growth plans as the economy continues to steadily improve and increase both turnover and staff numbers meaning our presence in Tredegar will look to bring much needed job prospects to the region”.

Tom Merrifield, Head of Agency at Bilfinger GVA, which brokered the deal through its Cardiff office, said: “This unit – one of the largest available in the area – was sold in a relatively short time-frame and demonstrates the current strong demand for stock of this nature across the South Wales Valleys.

“The transaction proves the recessionary conditions which previously made owner occupiers limited both in terms of a hesitance to commit, and the limited availability of funding have now been cast to the history books.

“From the outset of marketing we had a number of good enquiry lines from owner occupiers, and the fact that a local company is purchasing the property is great news for the regional economy.”

The acquisition was secured with support funding from Barclays, and Corporate Relationship Manager, Rob Reid, is pleased to see a Welsh business expanding and bringing jobs to the local community.

“We have a long-standing relationship with the company and wish to continue to work in partnership to support their strategic growth plans,” he said.
