Five Guys will be occupying 3,960 sq ft on the upper level, for what will be the brand’s first restaurant in Southampton. Meanwhile Nando’s, which is already established in WestQuay, will be adding an additional 3,430 sq ft alongside Five Guys.

WestQuay Watermark is the focal point of the council’s ‘Heart of the City’ project which has received £7 million pounds from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund. Work began on the leisure-led scheme, adjacent to the WestQuay Shopping Centre, on the 5th of January this year, with an expected opening date of autumn 2016.

The Head of Restaurants and Leisure at Hammerson, Sarah Fox, commented “Being able to add Five Guys and Nando’s to the list of restaurants we’ve already secured for WestQuay Watermark is a great result.

“We remain focused on attracting new and exciting restaurants to WestQuay Watermark so that we are able to meet the demands of today’s discerning shoppers for a variety of high quality dining options”.

John Eckbert, the CEO at Five Guys UK, said “Southampton’s city centre was identified immediately as we planned the expansion of the Five Guys brand.

“It is a highly successful destination popular with consumers from throughout the region which creates the perfect opportunity for Five Guys.

“We look forward to offering our high quality products to hung try customers whether they choose a little hamburger or go all out with a double patty, signature Five Guys style fries and a drink from Coca Col’s legendary freestyle machine that boasts 250,000 ways to order a drink.”

Gary Duncan, regional director at Nando’s echoed the enthusiasm, saying they are excited about opening up their second restaurant in Southampton.

Other restaurants which have recently signed up to be a part of the new development are Zizzi, Byron and Wahaca aswell as a brand new ten screen Showcase Cinema De Lux.
