Do you find yourself eating more and more at your desk as you are just too busy to take a lunch break? Or do you feel guilty for taking what you are entitled to, if others in the office do not leave during lunch? Then you may be in need of the ‘Dine Ink Pen Utensil Set’.
The utensil set is a basic idea which turns biro lids into cutlery, thus forming a knife, fork and spoon using a pen. The lids slip onto a biro meaning you are free to eat your lunch as you write by simply turning the pen the other way around.
But the fundamental idea could be flawed, depending what you have brought for your lunch. For instance, if you have a sandwich you will not require cutlery. But if you have a tin of soup, you will need to visit the staff kitchen anyway to warm it up in the microwave, so you may as well collect a spoon whilst you are there.
The utensils are currently being sold by Amazon.com and are priced at $9.20 (£5.67) – which does seem rather steep for a bit of plastic. However, on their website they do make you wonder how you ever coped without them.
It says: “Ever found yourself sitting at your desk all set to eat lunch and realize you have no utensils to use? Then you are in desperate need of the Dine Ink Pen Utensil Set.
“Each one of these cool pens has a cap with a cool and convenient eating utensil built right in to it. A fork, a spoon and a knife are at your fingertips, ready to use at a moment’s notice. Afterwards, just wash them off in the sink and slip them back on top of the pen and drop them in the drawer for the next time you have a memo to write or a meal to devour.”
Do you think cutlery pen toppers are the saviour of the office lunch? Or would you prefer to simply walk to the kitchen and pick up a normal set of steel ones instead?
