Construction on the brand new £2 million ŠKODA dealership at Belmont in Durham has now commenced.
Acting as Project Manager on the scheme on behalf of Pulman Group is Newcastle based Silverstone Building Consultancy. The new build is going to replace the ŠKODA pop-up car showroom on Abbey Road which Silverstone designed last year.
Silverstone has worked along side Pulman Group before, advising them on a number of projects over the past two years. The firm submitted plans earlier this year for the new design and build facility, and are in the process of overseeing the delivery of the construction through to its completion, which is due in February 2016.
The main contractor that has been appointed is Surgo, with the full design team comprising architects, Portland Consulting Engineers and mechanical and electrical contractors, Ian Belsham Associates, Since Consulting.
The bespoke design consists of a car showroom area which can hold nine display vehicles, a servicing workshop, external sales forecourt, café and catering kitchen.
Director at Silverstone, Richard Farrey, commented: “We are very pleased to have been instructed on our third project management instruction for Pulman Group.
“We have recently completed a £500,000 refurbishment of Pulman’s flagship Volkswagen car showroom on Abbey Road in Durham. Having gained valuable experience in the motor retail industry we hope these projects will lead to further instructions within this thriving sector.”
Mike Pulman, Managing Director of Pulmans, added: “It’s great to see the structure of the new showroom starting to take shape and we are looking forward to launching the new ŠKODA retail concept.”
He continues: “The new showroom will be state-of-the art and offer our customers a fantastic experience.”
