Newcastle-based property consultancy Naylors Chartered Surveyors is making a significant investment in staff and a new brand identity designed to increase turnover by 50 per cent over the next five years.
The North East’s largest independent property consultancy has announced the changes as it marks its 25th year in business. The strategy includes making a number of key appointments to strengthen its senior management team and accelerate the growth of key service lines.
One of the appointments is that of Phil Steadman as director to grow the firm’s valuation and lease advisory department. In addition, head of office agency Simon Taylor has been promoted to director, while a new office agent, two new building surveyors, a facilities surveyor and a rating consultant will also join the rapidly growing team.
Managing director at Naylors, Angus White, believes that the new appointments will help the consultancy to meet growth targets during the next five years.
He says; “We already have well established agency, building consultancy, asset management and property investment teams.
“We are now looking to grow our valuation, lease advisory and rating departments as part of our ongoing commitment to improve and diversify our client service.
“Investment in staff will be a continuing priority and we plan to make further strategic appointments including a non-executive director to assist in the business growth.”
Last year Naylors disposed of over 1.3 million sq ft of commercial space on behalf of a range of clients including UK Land Estates, Vardy Property Group and The Northumberland Estates.
As a result, its client roster has enjoyed a sizeable boost and the firm has been involved in a number of high profile deals during 2015, such as the recent sale of Collingwood House in Newcastle for £2.95 million and the acquisition of a new head office for Andrew James UK in Seaham.
Yet the firm intends to push still further in its expansion drive, having recently invested more than £40,000 in developing a new brand identity and website. The new-look website launched earlier this week, and Mr White hopes that the more modern look will attract further clients to Naylors.
He continues; “Turning 25 this year gave us the perfect opportunity to refresh and energise our brand and website.
“The new brand, which has been developed by Newcastle-based Sumo Design, has been a collaborative process with the whole team being involved from the outset.
“It will modernise our image to reflect the internal changes within the business and will help us to move forward with our next phase of business growth.”
