Micro-businesses, entrepreneurs and freelancers in York are to be given a boost after a new business centre is set to open at the end of the month.
Blake House, the commercial property in York, has been undergoing a major refurbishment since 2009. The refurbishment work couldn’t be rushed as the building is a three-storey Georgian building.
As well as accommodating micro-businesses, the building also runs ‘coworking desk space’ which offers individuals a desk space, in an open plan office environment. This is ideal for entrepreneurs and freelancers, as it is cost affective, as well as offering networking prospects, and opportunities to interact with other people. If an individual worked from home, they wouldn’t have these kind of opportunities and sometimes chatting to the dog just isn’t suffice.
Furthermore, if working in an open plan office isn’t ideal for your business needs, private offices are also available.
However, if this office space sounds ideal for your micro-business, you may want to enquire sooner rather than later, as the building has already received over 60 enquiries, even before the doors have opened.
Speaking of the property, Wendy Tunnicliffe, who runs Blake House, expressed: “Blake House offers a boutique style, funky office environment in the city centre at an affordable price. It’s a formula that I always believed in, but I never expected to attract so much interest in such difficult economic times, and before I’ve even begun to tell people about us.”
