A North-East supplier of mail room equipment has become the latest company to move into Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley business campus.
Negotiated by Bilfinger GVA and its letting agency partner, Gavin Black and Partners, on behalf of an un-named client Tyneside-based 1st Class Mailing has agreed to take almost 3,000 sq ft at the Media Exchange Five building in Coquet Street, Ouseburn Valley.
Established ten years ago to sell franking machines to small and medium-sized businesses, 1st Class Mailing signed a three-year lease on the high-tech offices less than two weeks after an initial inspection.
“The speed of this completed transaction demonstrates the improving office market and confirms the attractiveness of the Ouseburn Valley for marketing and media related companies,” commented Tony Wordsworth, a Bilfinger GVA office agency director based in Newcastle.
The Ouseburn Valley — within walking distance of Newcastle city centre — has undergone extensive redevelopment in recent years and is now home to an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and offices and has become particularly attractive to the creative and cultural sector.
The fully fitted floor space 1st Class is leasing has 21 workstations already wired for computers and contains desks, seating and filing cabinets. There is also a board room with views across the River Tyne, two meeting rooms and a staff kitchen.
Stephen Henderson is a director with the mailing supplies firm. “Here at 1st Class Mailing we have been looking to expand our business and to take on further staff,” he explained. “We are delighted to have found office space which is of a very high standard, ideally situated close to the city centre and public transport to accommodate our business client’s staff and to further grow the business.”
