It has been announced that Poundland will start selling Pep & Co Clothing Range across 10 Poundland stores across the UK. The Poindland shops that will implement the concession are: Wembley, Woolwich, Hanley, Southampton, Kings Heath, Rhyl, Dudley, Slough, Gillingham and Ilkeston.
Pep & Co is a UK fashion retailer based in Watford, owned by a South African investment company, Pepkor, which was established by Andy Bond who has previous experience of heading the George clothing brand of Asda, as well as holding the Asda CEO position.
Andy Bond commented: “The relationship between Pep & Co and Poundland will become increasingly significant. My ambition is that, over time, Pep & Co will become to Poundland like George is to Asda,”
Smaller Poundland stores will focus on selling clothes targeting kids and women.
There has not been a decision on the exact pricing but it has been confirmed not all products will be priced at £1.
Bond said: “We will always anchor Poundland around the trust of £1 pricing but the research from the business isn’t that people shop there because things are £1 but because they get amazing value.”
