Reading Office Redevelopment Creates a Buzz

The redevelopment of a Reading office building is due to begin later this month. The King’s Road property, formally occupied by Royal Sun Alliance, will undergo a multi-million pound conversion into a 10,000 sq. ft. health and fitness centre, which will trade under the name Buzz Gym.

In addition the upper floors of the property will be converted into an apartment hotel operated by corporate serviced apartment specialist House of Fisher which has a number of similar properties across Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

The redevelopment will be carried out by property development company T.A Fisher. John Fisher, the managing director of the firm, told the Reading Post that the project was one of the largest pre-let developments to take place in the town since the beginning of the recession.

“100 King’s Road is a project we are very excited about. The fact the development is being built to the highest standards and is already 100 per cent pre-let makes this an even more significant and exciting investment for Reading,” he said.

The fitness centre will be fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment and is promising to offer membership at affordable prices. It is due to open in March or April.

The apartment hotel will provide 55 furnished executive studios and apartments and will feature air conditioning and on-site parking. This part of the development is expected to be completed towards the end of the year.
