A redundant site close to Whitby town centre is being sought after by developers for a potential housing site.
The brownfield site at Holly Tree Court is being marketed by Bruton Knowles’ Northallerton office on behalf of Scarborough Borough Council.
From Bruton Knowles, Ginny Stockill, said that regenerating the site would deliver much needed new homes – without making further demands on green space.
She continued: “We are anticipating high interest in the site at Holly Tree Court as the housing market in the North East continues to gain momentum.
“Whitby is a great place to live with a high proportion of holiday lets which has tended to keep the housing market strong.
“The 0.76 acre site at Holly Tree Court comprises the former Council Parks Nursery Gardens and is handy for the town centre, schools and shops.”
The area consists of single storey storage, workshop buildings and greenhouses, as well as hard standing. Scarborough Borough Council previously utilised the site but it is now vacant.
Ginny added that unconditional offers are sought in excess of £300,000. Offers must be received by the Council by January 26 2016.
Do you think this would enhance investment and boost Whitby’s economy in the commercial sector?
