The 6 boroughs created on the course for the Olympic cycling road races have been established, which may provide a new cause to find property to rent in London.
Starting on the Mall in Central London, the route for the races will bypass Westminster, Hammersmith, Kensington and Chelsea and Fulham, Wandsworth, Kingston-upon-Thames and Richmond-upon-Thames.
The course then leads into Surrey, sending the contenders through the Reigate, Elmbridge, and Banstead, Woking, Guildford, and Mole Valley, before turning back to Central London to end at the Mall.
For the male cyclists, the race will be covering 250km and last for about six hours, whereas the women contenders will finish a 140km in approximately 3.5 hours.
The chairmen of the London 2012 Organising Committee, Seb Coe, commented: “This extends the Games into the south-west of London and Surrey. We are delighted to be bringing such high profile and exciting events here.”
Previous month, the Olympic Delivery Authority disclosed that 24 % of people on the Olympic park development live in the 5 Olympic boroughs – Hackney, Waltham Forest Newham, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich.
