The new store, whose neighbours include Coast, Reiss, Radley and Molton Brown, is Russell & Bromley’s first opening in the intu estate, providing further confirmation of the Trafford Centre’s status as one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations.

Regional Director of intu, Julian Wilkinson, said: “In the RetailVision Rankings, Manchester was the top retail destination outside London and intu Trafford Centre was the top shopping centre outside the capital.

“This means we can attract well known retailers drawn by our annual footfall of over 30 million, and 6.2 million catchment. Russell & Bromley continues our focus on driving this prime asset and adding to the list of high quality lettings at the centre.”

In addition to the signing of Russell & Bromley, intu has also confirmed that Lakeland will open a new 4,530 sq ft outlet at the centre in March, also on a 10 year lease. This unit is located on the lower mall of Peel Avenue close to John Lewis, Tessuti, Calvin Klein, Armani and The Designer Studio.

Nationally, intu has a £1.3 billion ten year programme in place to enhance customer’s shopping experiences. At the Trafford Centre this involves a £45 million scheme to enclose the Barton Square courtyard, adding over 100,000 sq ft of new space.

The area features a range of leisure and homeware names such as Marks & Spencer Home, Next Home and Laura Ashley, together with attractions including the Legoland Discovery Centre and Sea Life. It is due to be completed in 2018.

Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of intu. Russell & Bromley was represented by Styles & Whitlock and Lakeland was represented by Hamer Ray Hoffbrand.
