Ryden — the biggest independent commercial property consultants in the north of Britain — is moving its headquarters to Edinburgh’s burgeoning business district.
The award winning agency, which has five offices across Scotland and northern England, has agreed a deal to lease 6,264 sq ft on the ground floor of The Exchange. The expansion to Seven Exchange Crescent, Conference Square, will allow Ryden to move from the North Castle Street offices it has occupied for almost a quarter of a century.
“We selected Exchange Crescent from a number of short-listed options to provide a high-quality space from which to develop our business,” explained Ryden partner, Peter I’Anson, who confirmed all the firm’s 45 Edinburgh staff will relocate.
“Moving from a townhouse to a single level will mean collaboration on projects is easier and we will be closer to our clients, friends and fellow professionals, while maintaining on-street presence at our new office.”
He added that as a business location Exchange Crescent resonated with Ryden’s quality and professionalism. “We are proud to be part of an evolving area which has seen the recent development of Atria and has office proposals from Hermes and Scottish Power,” said I’Anson.
The interior design and project management of the new office fit out is being handled in-house by the firm’s growing project and building consultancy team and is being designed to maximise team working by arranging workspaces around a central hub, with dedicated quiet areas.
Ryden — which has a total of 34 partners and 110 staff — joins national law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn, supermarket chain Morrisons, the information technology manager Logic Now, and Pure Gym at Exchange Crescent. The global property adviser Colliers has also taken space within the development.
Exchange Crescent landlord, Standard Life, was represented by Jones Lang LaSalle and CMS. Burness Paul provided Ryden with legal representation.
