A countrywide search has been started to search the first ‘solar street’ of Britain, where each roof is appropriate for the fitting of free photovoltaic solar panels.
Photovoltaic solar systems are estimated to save as much as 50 per cent for the homeowners – an average of £270 – on annual house hold power bills, and Ecovision, the company performing the search, is eager for more customers to gain.
The firm is hopeful to hoist awareness of the possible savings on hand under a government-backed plan to fit free solar Photovoltaic equipment to homes around the country.
The company believes that more than 750,000 properties could gain from this initiative, associating to probable electricity savings of £200 million in a year across the country solely.
Peter Randall, Chief executive officer commented: “We are inviting people around the country to submit details of their street and hopefully we will find one that is suitable to become Britain’s first all solar street”.
“This is a wonderful chance for one of towns or streets of Britain to become a proper green pioneer –at the same time saving a lot of money,” he added.
Recent research carried by Ecovision recommended that far more homeowners would use solar technology if they were conscious of the money-saving scheme.
