It has been reported by Oxford Economics, the number of self-employment in the UK has been increased by 27 per cent between 2007 and 2017, which brings the total number of self-employed to 4.8 million.
In particular, the number of female self-employed workers has risen by 50 per cent in the same period.

According to Oxford Economics, there are currently 134,000 small creative businesses in the UK, with a total of number of employed in the sector of 192,000. This means 1 in 40 of all businesses in the UK is a business of this nature.
