Stoke-On-Trent Commercial Property Breakfast Meeting A Success

Posted on 24 June, 2011 by MOVEHUT

The ‘make it Stoke-On-Trent development service’ recently hosted its inaugural commercial property breakfast meeting, which it hopes will become a quarterly fixture.

The commercial property breakfast will provide network opportunities for all aspects of the commercial property industry. Each event will address key industry issues within the current economic climate and will be followed by presentations from guest speakers.

Councillor Mark Meredith, Stoke-on-Trent City Council cabinet member for economic development, said: ‘The Make It Stoke-on-Trent Investment Development Service was set up last year to secure more private sector investment for Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area. The team undertakes proactive marketing activity and works to de-risk the investment process for companies seeking to expand and relocate. The property forum is designed to share market intelligence and provide valuable networking opportunities.’

Finest network North Staffordshire, who have assisted in organising the breakfast said: ‘the experience will be simple, effective and good value.’

The very first commercial property breakfast took place on the morning of Wednesday 22 June, at Knights Solicitors LLP, Newcastle-Under-Lyme.

The meeting started with breakfast and an informal networking session, which was followed by a presentation from, Andrew Groves, of commercial property consultancy firm, Harris Lamb.

Mr Groves asserted that over the course of the last quarter, Harris Lamb had received a 19% increase in enquiries into industrial and warehouse space in North Staffordshire. He added that the North Staffordshire region is currently suffering from a lack of available, modern office space.

Jon Ryan-Gill from CB Richard Ellis, was the next to take to the presentation platform, offering a nationwide view of the commercial property market. He declared that 45 per cent of new commercial property space take up is on a design and build basis.

All in all, the inaugural Stoke-On-Trent commercial property breakfast, was a roaring success and let us hope this is the first of many more to come.
