The Shard has made a strong start to 2015 with the confirmation of a further three office lettings. The latest occupiers of Western Europe’s tallest building are io oil & gas consulting, The Office Group and Gallup who have agreed terms on a combined 61,200 sq ft.

New consultancy io has taken 15,400 sq ft on Level 9, and CEO Dan Jackson believes the move is the right one for the venture.

“The launch of io marks a significant milestone in the offshore oil and gas industry, and taking offices in this prestigious and iconic building is a sign of our commitment to recruit the best talent,” he said.

The Office Group, one of London’s leading providers of design-led flexible office space, has taken 33,600 sq ft on Levels 24 and 25 which is expected to become home to around 30 SMEs.

“Our distinctively designed space will complement The Shard’s iconic status and world-class office space,” joint CEO’s Charlie Green and Olly Olsen commented.

“Our product is for people whose lifestyle cannot compromise on work space and who place high value on a world-class address and being part of an inspirational environment.”

The Office Group and io will be joined by global pollsters and business consultants Gallup who will be relocating to 12,200 sq ft on Level 18.

The latest lettings bring the occupancy level of the London Bridge Estate to 75 per cent, with approximately 8,000 people working in The Shard and the adjacent News Building.

In a joint statement, developer and co-owner of The Shard, Irvine Sellar, and James Goldsmith, Leasing Director of the building’s asset manager REM, said:

“These latest lettings epitomise the spirit of The Shard by reinforcing our vision of creating a truly vertical city which enables entrepreneurial and international companies operating from this iconic building to make a positive business statement.

“These businesses will be a great addition to the London Bridge Quarter estate, and extends our community here to 29 tenants.”
