UK Music Lovers to Boost the Economy for London’s Leisure Industry

London’s major music event, Camden Crawl has been running since 1995, and following its success this year, the tickets for next year’s event have already been released this week. The event will take place during May Bank Holiday Weekend (from 4th – 6th May) 2012 at various pubs and other leisure properties in Camden, showcasing more than 250 UK and International musicians. The tickets are available through the official website for £62.50 for the weekend, although the line-up is still to be confirmed.

The event allows die-hard music lovers to access a large number of pubs and nightclubs to watch their favourite acts playing live. The organisers of the event expresses: “The event brings music fans, artists and music industry and media under one umbrella. The Crawl has always prided itself in making live music affordable and accessible to everyone.”

The quick growth of the event can be evident by looking at the fact that it has grown from a small event, showcasing only 20 acts in 1995 to a staggering 250 acts in over 50 venues this year. A list of musicians who have previously taken part in the London’s music event include; Snow Patrol, Graham Coxon, Maximo Park, Moby, Mogwai, Plan B, The Cribs, Mumford & Sons, One Night Only, Kasabian, The King Blues, Pendulum and Katy B just to name a few.

With the UK’s pub industry currently facing huge financial struggle, the music event could reduce the number of pub closures, which would result in fewer job losses. Furthermore, the event official website offers information on nearby hotels, which would benefit the local hotel and leisure industry.

With the London 2012 Olympics and the Camden Crawl taking place at the similar times in 2012, significant positive contributions to London’s and furthermore the UK’s commercial property market could be made.
