Regeneration specialist Urban Splash has secured a wave of lettings totalling 9,000 sq ft in the past month alone. The award winning firm, which controls a commercial property portfolio of more than 1 million sq ft, has closed new lease agreements with a total of 10 tenants at schemes in Plymouth, Liverpool and Manchester.

The biggest deal has been secured with restaurant company Wildwood which is taking a 3,554 sq ft unit at the Royal William Yard in Plymouth.

A representative of the firm said; “We are delighted to be joining the diverse mix of businesses already at the Yard. The scheme represents a unique opportunity and we hope that our restaurant and deli will not only fit in well with the beautiful array of listed buildings but will enhance and complement the food offer already available.

“We are really excited to be opening our newest venue and we hope that people from in and outside the Yard will enjoy our exclusively imported products and freshly prepared salads, breads and cakes in the deli as well as our grills, pizzas and pasta in the restaurant.”

Elsewhere, the Liverpool portfolio has enjoyed a very successful month, with a total of 1,114 sq ft let across the city centre Ropewalks and the Matchworks in Speke. The new tenants hail from a wide range of industries and include high profile firms such as builders HE Simm, architects JDA Liverpool and construction specialists Intex Systems.

In Manchester, five new tenants have taken a combined totakl of 2,000 sq ft within its Ducie House development. A further 1,600 sq ft in Stalybridge’s Longlands Mill has been taken by hairdressing salon Industry, which claimed the last unit at the site and brought the overall Urban Splash portfolio occupancy rate to 85 per cent.

The remaining space now consists of light industrial units, though Urban Splash will soon begin marketing its new studio office space at Stubbs Mill (pictured) in Manchester’s New Islington district, following the appointment of agents Bilfinger GVA and Edwards & Co earlier this month.

Associate director at Urban Splash, Emily Handslip, believes the momentum built this month will continue to grow as the year progresses.

She says; ““I am delighted that we have continued our momentum from 2014 and secured these new tenants, all of whom are exciting businesses.

“We are fortunate enough to have a rich and diverse mix of space on offer, from small start-up units of under 100 sq ft, through to larger spaces at buildings like Chips in Manchester and Royal William Yard in Plymouth.

“Most of the units are housed within interesting, reinvigorated buildings, meaning there’s a lot of demand from contemporary businesses looking for well-designed workspaces.”
