Leading diversified real estate investment manager Valad Europe has leased a total of 9,480 sq m (102,000 sq ft) of warehouse space at Kolumbusstraße 16 in Hamburg Billbrook, on behalf of its Valad European Income Fund.
International logistics firm Thordsen Spedition has taken over half of the space at the 18,726 sq m (201,500 sq ft) building located in the largest industrial zone in the German city.
The latest deal means that the property is almost fully let, with an occupier line-up including Übersee-Spedition Paul Weidlich and Hansa Kombi Transport.
Commenting on the letting Valad Europe’s Head of Asset Management in Germany Danilo Hunker said: “We are delighted to welcome Thordsen back to Kolumbusstraße 16, providing them with warehouse space in Billbrook, close-by to their main premises in Hamburg Hammerbrook.
“We have had a successful first half of 2015 in Billbrook, with this latest letting forming part of around 16,000 sq m (172,200 sq ft) of leasing space we have turned over.”
Valad Europe, which manages around €740 million (£524 million) of assets in Germany, is a major landlord in the Hamburg Billbrook area where it has 10 assets let to 75 tenants.
The firm has a team of 35 in the country operating from offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
