Cruise control may make driving easier, but not for many X-type Jaguar drivers. It has been reported that the cruise control on some diesel versions of the car becomes jammed and can only be disarmed by turning the engine off. Jaguar are currently contacting owners of the affected model, which was manufactured between 2006 and 2010.
22,000 trucks and sport utility vehicles
were recalled due to the fear that their
tyre deflation systems could cause a
crash, if they failed.
A design fault on the Jeep Gran
Cherokee,which could have potentially
caused the vehicle to burst into flames,
affected two million owners in the USA.
The automatic transmission software
was required to be updated, meaning 1.5
million owners in the USA were affected.
As a result of this issue, a total of 17,678 cars are currently being recalled. Owners of the model will be required to visit their dealer at an automotive commercial property to get the problem fixed, free of charge.
Speaking of the issue, a spokesperson for Jaguar stated, “This potential problem was spotted by one of our employees. No customer has been affected and there had been no accidents or injuries.”
Owners of the affected X-type Jaguar will receive a letter shortly explaining about the problem, “In some circumstances the cruise control may not respond to the normal inputs,” and how they can get the problem fixed at a local dealer.
