Cushman & Wakefield have been selected by French fashion chain, The Kooples to expand their UK base of shops. Currently The Kooples has only nine shops in London and Manchester as well as concessions in Selfridges. They want to create a chain of shops, similar to the chain of 111 outlets they have in France, with the hope of opening approximately 50 UK stores.

Cushman & Wakefield will be responsible for sourcing ideal locations and commercial properties that suit the French company. The first city to catch sight of the brand will be Bristol.

With the French brand being so innovative and targeting an unusual audience of 25 to 40 year old mothers and daughters, it fitted well with Cushman & Wakefield’s vision which is, ‘to be the world’s preferred real estate firm, providing the most creative and innovative services on a consistent basis, to drive meaningful value to our clients. To be the best at what we do.’

The Kooples is run by three brothers who are, Alexandre, Laurent and Raphaël. When describing the brand, Alexandre said, “In London people say, ‘oh, you are very Parisian’, and in Paris they comment how English the brand is. But we are not just the clothes and just fashion for fashion’s sake. We wanted to build a story around the brand. We have a record label and gigs and events. We have even launched a competition for couples who play together in bands. This is more than just fashion. We want this to be more classic.”

Cushman & Wakefield was formed in 1998, but their roots date all the way back to 1820. They have expanded all over the world and currently have 234 offices in 61 countries. The company offers a range of services in a variety of categories, which include: agency, brokers, valuations, capital markets, consultancies, sector groups, research, corporate occupiers and investors.
