Birmingham Offers Attractive Incentives to Investors

Posted on 3 August, 2013 by Jodee Redmond

Investors who bring jobs to Birmingham will be rewarded with free or discounted office space by city inward investment programme Business Birmingham. It offers this incentive to investors for six months to help them get established and create jobs in the city.

Eligible businesses will be offered space in the Custard Factory in Digbeth. Hopefully, this opportunity will attract more investors to the area as part of a wider support programme that also includes PR support, banking, legal, and accountancy advice, as well as recruitment services.

Investors will also receive six months’ free membership as a commercial partner of Marketing Birmingham, which operates Business Birmingham.

Chris Loughran, a senior partner at Deloitte in the Midlands, who is a board member of Marketing Birmingham and also chairs its inward investment committee, says that Birmingham must continue to develop its offer for job-creating investors to ensure that it remains competitive at home, as well as internationally.

He went on to say that these incentives will make the city an even more attractive choice for investors looking for new locations.

This programme is designed to help investors looking for new locations and local companies who wish to access new clients by allowing them to set up satellite locations. The incentives make this initial stage easy and pave the way to a sustainable expansion and more local jobs. By introducing local companies and investors early in the process, it is hoped that they will be able to foster long-term business relationships.
