Manchester’s 23-storey Arndale House is now fully let. The Co-operative Group has agreed to take 35,000 sq ft in a deal that will see it occupying the eighth, ninth and 19th floors.
M&G Real Estate and intu have confirmed the final letting — to Co-op Group subsidiaries CFS Management Services and CIS General Insurance — just weeks after Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer signed a 40,000 sq ft deal for the office block’s fourth, seventh, 10th and 12th floors. The law firm will use the space to open a shared legal and business services centre.
“Arndale House is now fully let,” commented M&G Real Estate’s asset management director, Elise Buchanan. “This is a positive sign that Manchester’s offices sector is going from strength to strength and we continue to liaise with occupiers, current and prospective, as part of our ongoing active asset management approach.
“The Co-operative Group and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer lettings for Arndale House reinforce Manchester’s reputation as the UK’s second city.
“With access to one of the UK’s most diverse retail offers, as well as continually improving food and beverage hubs, Arndale House provides a unique working environment and a range of facilities that clearly set it apart,” she added.
Other tenants at the recently refurbished 200,000 sq ft Arndale House include Sainsbury’s and Premier Foods.
Built as part of the Manchester Arndale scheme, access to the city centre tower is either from Exchange Square or the Arndale shopping centre. With around 1.2m sq ft of retail space across 240 shops it is one of Europe’s largest shopping complexes.
TSG Property Consultants is the retained agents for M&G Real Estate and intu on Arndale House. Knight Frank acted on behalf of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and The Co-operative Group represented itself.
