One of the largest global property investment managers, Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, has strengthened it team with two senior appointments in the US and Europe.
Cornerstone has announced the appointment of Joy Winterfield (above) as Managing Director of Global Portfolio Management based in Chicago. She will also form part of the company’s global executive team.
In the same statement Cornerstone has confirmed the appointment of Albert Yang (below) as Managing Director and Head of Business Development – Europe. Mr Yang will be based in London. Both new hires will take-up their new positions in September.
Ms Winterfield has over 25 years’ experience largely in the private equity and property investment industries. She joins Cornerstone after eight years at Allstate Investments, where her most recent post was as Director of Global Private Equity Real Estate. Ms Winterfield also sat on Allstate’s Global Strategy Committee.
In addition Ms Winterfield – who holds a B.S in Industrial Administration from GMI Engineering & Management Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School – currently sits on a number of boards. These include the College of Illinois Investment Advisory Panel and the Chicago Chapter of Women in Real Estate (WIRE).
Mr Yang arrives at Cornerstone after four years at JP Morgan Asset Management, where he served as Executive Director of Global Assets. In this role he was responsible for capital raising, investor relations and business development for institutional investors in the EMA region.
His 14 year career in European asset management has also included spells at Henderson Global Investors, Schroder Property Investment Management and Deutsche Property Asset Management. Mr Yang holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and European Studies from the University of Warwick. He is a board member of the Association for Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and sits on the editorial board of Institutional Real Estate.
