Altringham based Amstone Developments has submitted a planning application for a major mixed use scheme in Salford.
The investment and development group, which has in excess of £100 million of assets throughout the UK and Germany, is seeking approval for an ‘urban village’ that will provide 17,000 sq ft of flexible commercial space.
The plans, for the regeneration of a four acre former cinema site at Clippers Quay, also include 600 apartments for the private rented sector, a retail unit and a café.
Green space connecting the scheme with the waterfront, and a footbridge leading to the upcoming Wharfside tram stop, will be incorporated into the development, linking the site directly to the Trafford Centre and Trafford Park.
Operations Director of Amstone Developments, Martin Halsey, said: “We are well funded as a group with access to significant private equity funds.
“Our Clippers Quay scheme provides us with the launch pad to roll out our PRS urban village concept in other North West locations in the future.”
Salford Council planners are expected to reach a decision before the end of the year, with construction scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2015.
